You can find the link for the feed of each GigaPan panorama on it's page. I don't know if it's permanent or just a test, but something is obvious: <strong>It's a good sign</strong>. I hope the Gigapan team add the feed for GigaPan panoramas soon.</p> <br />I guess I'm the first person spreading the news. I found no post about this on GigaPan forum and GigaPan blog, please let me know if you have any update. Here is what he says (29:50 – 30:30):</p> <br /> <br /> <p align="left">“We got here by asking the question: how can we foster better humanization between children and different parts of the world, how can we cause cross-cultural understanding? …”</p> <br /> <br /> <p align="left">And then, Illah continues:</p> <br /> <br /> <p align="left">“… and the answer in our minds was about the power of the image, what if you allow people to do imaging in a way that is so detailed that you fall into the image, explore it, find details that enable you to have a conversation with people around the world, because you essentially exploring a microcosm of them. It says everybody on earth becomes a Google Earth producer; they are making something that has extreme resolution and sharing with others. So, then we made the technology.”</p> Payamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11851074026968286096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833822222354872526.post-62529841356680420202009-02-19T11:04:00.001-08:002009-02-23T22:20:05.562-08:00New Gigapan Stitcher (0.4.386x)<p></p> <p>The new version of <strong>GigaPan Stitcher</strong> is now available for <a href="http://gc.cs.cmu.edu/stitcher/" target="_blank"><strong>download</strong></a> (0.4.3865 for Macintosh, 0.4.3864 for Windows) which also includes <strong>GigaPan Uploader</strong>. On a page of gigapan.org:</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p>To view a gigapan panorama when you are on a page of gigapan.org (e.g: <a href="http://gigapan.org/searchGigapansList.php?keywords=&sort=popular" target="_blank">Most Popular Gigapans</a>, <a href="http://gigapan.org/searchGigapansList.php?keywords=&sort=recent" target="_blank">Most Recent Gigapans</a>, or even <a href="http://gigapan.org/viewProfile.php?userid=4195" target="_blank">a user’s profile</a>), click on the “<span style="font-weight: bold;">View in Google Earth 4.2+</span>” link that appears below the panorama and its descriptions, as shown in the photo below.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVkAS0A-ZpnePnbcFoXhByz84zhfd_dpsVNeNnl69XWVIIp4A24oV5ek52gfV6edaud_j_h71THmLJ_uVRzpDRKap5ly7Fj0jiblcBorlhIvseBOQT0ob2VcJZzXjaLfXfmDhiCv5-Z3M/s1600-h/how%20to%20view%20a%20gigapan%20on%20google%20earth%5B9%5D.jpg"><img title="how to view a gigapan on google earth" style="border: 0px none ; display: inline;" alt="how to view a gigapan on google earth" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixpCmx8ZamtTq95qjqB6-ht3OCB-waXsPbk3pyoYXSW9XoAOT4lEjh0Fl4WMaMGLgmTvObaSclG-GaFF0stLgjcw80_lLEn5wJp9LsUKPa1U3MNioz-BA-KaA9Gobu1gJxymclSGj6H-Q/?imgmax=800" border="0" height="244" width="443" /></a> </p> <p></p> <p><br /></p><p>2. When viewing a gigapan:</p> <p></p> <p>When you are viewing a gigapan panorama on its own page, you can easily view the gigapan on Google Earth by clicking on the “<span style="font-weight: bold;">View in Google Earth 4.2+</span>” link which is located between the snapshots bar and the Google Map box, on right side of the page.</p> <p></p> <p><br /></p><p>If you see no link to view the gigapan on Google Earth, the gigapanner has not geo-located that gigapan on Google Earth.</p> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p><br />You may also like to know: <a href="http://howtogigapan.blogspot.com/2008/11/how-to-view-all-gigapan-panoramas-on.html" target="_blank">How to View All GigaPan Panoramas on Google Earth</a>.Payamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11851074026968286096noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833822222354872526.post-3755959236938644722008-11-02T12:57:00.000-08:002008-11-02T13:31:49.053-08:00How to View All GigaPan Panoramas on Google Earth<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2B7zjXSHiDLCkhgmjA25vi3j44zWzOq8IlhmDffqsek-W9PTaszMQzWUKDl1uZCS2t6-JUsF73QUoQ3U16WYQRuL0V3wTRoGxOk4LqigOdkR0wZXn_t1KXktv11Rgb4alLtY7FADbkEk/s1600-h/View+all+GigaPans+on+Google+Earth.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 282px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2B7zjXSHiDLCkhgmjA25vi3j44zWzOq8IlhmDffqsek-W9PTaszMQzWUKDl1uZCS2t6-JUsF73QUoQ3U16WYQRuL0V3wTRoGxOk4LqigOdkR0wZXn_t1KXktv11Rgb4alLtY7FADbkEk/s400/View+all+GigaPans+on+Google+Earth.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264174257180529010" border="0" /></a><span style="font-weight: bold;">Viewing all</span> <span style="font-weight: bold;">GigaPan panoramas on Google Earth</span> is very easy, you should just follow the following steps:<br /><br />1. Second, choose a <span style="font-style: italic">title </span>for your gigapan panorama, write some <span style="font-style: italic">description </span>for that, and add some tags. If you check the <span style="font-style: italic">private</span> box, your photo will not be shown for public but just for you; however, you can make your photo public later. Then, you should enter your username and password. If you haven't registered on gigapan, you can <a href="http://gigapan.org/createAccount.php" target="_blank">create a free account here</a>. At last, click on "Upload now"! <br /> <br />Depending on the size of you panorama and your Internet connection speed, you should wait a while for the photo to be uploaded. When uploading finishes, a link will appear for you; click on the link to go to your gigapan directly. At first it looks complicated, but after uploading 3 or more photos it will be much easier. You may have many reasons for doing this, for example, you don’t like others to load your huge profile page ,which contains your gigapan panorama + snapshots + bookmarks, for viewing just some panoramas. In a huge profile, like <a href="http://gigapan.org/viewProfile.php?userid=4195" target="_blank">mine</a>, it is not good to do this. You can easily select some of you gigapan panoramas to show them in a separate page, just follow these steps:<br /><ol><li>Find the id of you gigapan panoramas you want to select: Go to photos page, and write down the id of your gigapan panorama from address bar of your browser as shown below:<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL0sQsPicMHiVY9vGNTOmCEH3gbwAAR3GAgOF6jRQ0ZWvGp71NedCaJ6cm_BcHTNkiUc58c_NlDLMStV5VRNMo1G0VEhNQw04oNhUR1maYdivVt0PLHkUtXHMf0S64DBFhUYSsRY1WJEc/s1600-h/Finding+id+of+gigapan+panorama+form+address+bar.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 398px; height: 38px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL0sQsPicMHiVY9vGNTOmCEH3gbwAAR3GAgOF6jRQ0ZWvGp71NedCaJ6cm_BcHTNkiUc58c_NlDLMStV5VRNMo1G0VEhNQw04oNhUR1maYdivVt0PLHkUtXHMf0S64DBFhUYSsRY1WJEc/s400/Finding+id+of+gigapan+panorama+form+address+bar.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260406067191468834" border="0" /></a></li><li>Now, type <span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 0);">http://gigapan.org/searchGigapansList.php?ids=</span> in your browser address bar, then add the ids to the end of the text separated by commas.</li></ol>Example:<br /><br />Here are some of my favorite gigapan panoramas selected to be shown on a page:<br /><span style="font-size:85%;"><a href="http://gigapan.org/searchGigapansList.php?ids=5246,6713,7017,7346,8042,9010" target="_blank">http://gigapan.org/searchGigapansList.php?ids=5246,6713,7017,7346,8042,9010</a><br />.<br /></span>Payamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11851074026968286096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833822222354872526.post-30865170465336895302008-10-21T11:26:00.000-07:002008-10-21T11:39:32.450-07:00Gigapan Tutorial Video 4 of 4<object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-SRBXKSLykI&hl=en&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-SRBXKSLykI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br /><br />Video By: Illah Nourbakhsh<br />In: Carnegie Mellon University, Robotics Institute<br />Duration: 3 minutes and 55 seconds<br /><br />It is about:<br /><ul><li>Continue the process of stitching photos<br /></li><li>Some info. about the process of stitching<br /></li><li>See the result</li><li>Upload your gigapan panorama to gigapan.org</li><li>Export the gigapan panorama to a tif file<br /></li></ul>Video on YouTube: <a href="http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=-SRBXKSLykI" target="_blank">Gigapan Tutorial -
